Sprinting to 2024 Challenge - Day 2
Writing in the Dark, literally
Day 2 Reporting in. Still no power and getting colder too.
I got a sad sum of 622 words down. Still a win, I guess. I only have time to write at night after my son goes down to sleep but since I am punching words on a manual typewriter, it gets a bit noisy. So i’ll be taking an old notebook and my Parker pen to scribble the rest of my word count. A quick pivot. I’ll be using an OCR app on my phone to help capture and transcribe my words digitally.
Not much else to report. I’m catching up on some reading too: The Playboy Book of Horror and Suspense short stories and The Pulp Mindset by JD Cowan.
That’s a wrap of Tuesday’s activities. A slow start but we will get there.
‘Till next time.
True grit. You've got it, my friend. Just a thought. Instead of using OCR, when you get the power back, cycle through what you've written as you type it in on your laptop or whatever. I can almost guarantee the story will be better for it.
